Add Date Stamp to Photo

Reads when a photo was taken and stamps the date in a corner, old digital-camera style. Batch too.

Saved photos get the date printed on them, but the original's EXIF and other metadata are not kept. If there's no date-taken info, the file date is used, and you can change it.

Add your photos and the date each was taken is read from the photo and printed in a corner. Go for the orange look of an old digital camera, or clean white or black, and stamp a whole trip's worth at once as a ZIP. Photos are processed on this device only.

How to use

  1. Choose or drop photos and check the dates in the list.
  2. Pick the style, date format, position and text size.
  3. Choose a format and press Download or Download all as ZIP.

FAQ

How does it know when the photo was taken?

It reads the date taken from the photo info (EXIF) stored inside JPG photos, right in your browser. If that's missing it uses the file date, which you can change in the list.

The date is wrong.

Either the photo had no date info and the file date was used, or the camera's clock was off. Use 'Edit date' on a photo or 'Same date for all photos'.

Does the saved photo keep the original's metadata?

No. The photo is redrawn with the date and saved as a new file, so EXIF and other original metadata aren't kept. Your original file isn't changed.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Reading the date and saving both happen inside your browser; nothing is sent or stored anywhere.

Will portrait phone photos come out sideways?

No. The orientation in the photo info is applied, so the date is added to the photo the way it's meant to be seen.

Can I do many photos at once?

Yes. Up to 20 photos are stamped in the same style and downloaded as one ZIP. Each photo gets its own date.
